In his most recent piece for MLB.com, Anthony Castrovince predicts a couple key signings for the Mets in the near future.
First and foremost, Castrovince believes that it is almost certain the Mets will sign catcher J.T. Realmuto this offseason.
With no “major restrictions” standing in their way – particularly as new owner Steve Cohen looks to take the lead and be an active buyer – the Mets are the frontrunners for the well-rounded Realmuto.
Castrovince also predicts right-hander Marcus Stroman re-signing with the Mets.
Injuries and opt-outs aside, Stroman may be the second-best option (behind Trevor Bauer) in the free-agent starting pitcher market, says Castrovince.
